GOLDEN GRENADES PODCAST

January 2021

I created some sounds and artwork for a brand new bird based podcast from Kit Jewitt ( Creator of the Red67 book ) called Golden Grenades ( name taken from J A Bakers description of a Peregrine Falcons talons) . Each week the guest picks their top 5 birds and has a chat. Sort of desert island discs meets tweet of the day. At the end the guest has to battle the mighty peregrine to decide if their top bird will win. I had fun making jingles for this and you might even hear my voice announcing each bird! It’s good fun even if you’re not a mega bird nerd! I will be a guest later on in the year. This week the guest is @theurbanbirder . Search Golden Grenades on Spotify .Enjoy!

I was so excited to get to work with the Yoga legend Adriene Mishler !

I created an animated Benji short for YOGA WITH ADRIENE'S

www.votewithbeni.com campaign. I'm pretty sure the animation can take full credit for getting rid of Trump!

AUGUST

The Last Song of the Nightingale had it's UK premiere at the Virtual Birdfair. It was fantastic to share what we've been working on. Chris Packham shared my work on twitter which was fantastic. The premiere was a great success and the film has now been entered in to festivals.

JULY

I was asked by LEICA to create an animated version of their stand at the Rutland Birdfair. Due to Covid 19 the festival was virtual this year. It was great fun to animate a Kingfisher, Little Egret, and Osprey. I continued the illustrative style I'd developed for 'The Last Song of the Nightingale' using Procreate to design the birds an then Adobe animate to bring them to life. Katie Stacey also arranged for me to have a pair of Ultravids while on the project. Perfect for spotting my local pair of Breeding Hobbies!

Back designing on Hey Duggee for Studio AKA . The new episodes are of course top secret, but I can tell you they are looking very cool indeed! Working from home at the moment due to the current situation.

APRIL 2020

The Last Song of the Nightingale is finally finished! It's been an absolute pleasure working with Luke Massey and Katie Stacey. The film has been entered in to the Wildscreen  Film festival. Fingers crossed it does well.

It has been great fun designing, animating and directing the animated sequences in the film.  I wanted to make moving versions of the hand drawn procreate style I've been doing recently. I think it worked! It has been fun jumping between procreate on the iPad and Animate on my laptop. A great learning experience . I think I can take this new more realistic style in to future nature based projects.

SAM WEST NARRATION

Mar 2020

Can't believe the esteemed actor Sam West agreed to narrate The Last Song of the Nightingale. Recorded at Fonic,  Sam's dulcet tones have added a new layer of sophistication to this wonderful new documentary.
